Basic classification of surface grinders

Surface grinder is a type of grinder that grinds the flat or formed surface of a workpiece. The main types are horizontal axis moment table, horizontal axis circle table, vertical axis moment table, vertical axis circle table and various special surface grinders.
① Horizontal axis rectangular table surface grinder: The workpiece is sucked or clamped on the table by a rectangular electromagnetic table, and reciprocates longitudinally. The wheel carriage can perform horizontal intermittent feed motion along the dovetail guide rail of the carriage (see machine tool guide) (see machine tool), and the carriage can perform vertical intermittent feed motion along the guide rail of the column. The workpiece is ground around the grinding wheel, and the grinding accuracy is relatively high.
②Vertical shaft circular table surface grinder: The spindle of the vertical grinding wheel grinds the workpiece with the end face of the grinding wheel, and the grinding wheel frame can perform intermittent vertical feed movement along the guide rail of the column. The workpiece can be continuously ground on a rotating circular table, and the production efficiency is high. In order to facilitate the loading and unloading of workpieces, the circular table can also be moved longitudinally along the bed rail.
③Horizontal-shaft round table surface grinder: suitable for grinding round thin-sheet workpieces, and can use the table tilt to grind circular workpieces of varying thickness.
④Vertical shaft rectangular surface grinder: Because the diameter of the grinding wheel is larger than the width of the table, the grinding area is large, which is suitable for efficient grinding.
⑤ Double-face grinding machine: Grind the two parallel planes of the workpiece at the same time using the grinding wheel end faces of two grinding heads. There are two types of horizontal and vertical axes. The workpiece is guided through the grinding wheel by a linear or rotary feeding device. This kind of grinding machine is very efficient and suitable for mass production of parts such as bearing rings and piston rings. In addition, there are guide rail grinders for grinding the guide surfaces of machine tools, and special grinders for grinding turbine blade profiles.
